Orange County’s newest and most talked about gastropub has got to be The Iron Press. The restaurant specializes in waffle-sandwiches and offers a great selection of beer to go along with your meal. The restaurant has already received comparisons to Bruxie, so you know they’re doing something right. If you plan to try this place soon, keep in mind that they are still in its soft opening stage, so they are still working out the kinks, like any new establishment would. My only complaint would be the time it takes for them to prepare the food. Besides that, there really isn’t anything else to complain about this place.

American-born DJ and producer, Diplo, recently entertained the guests and attendees of Transmission LA: AV Club. The event, hosted by Mercedes-Benz and curated by Mike D of the Beastie Boys was the last and final performance of the 17-day exhibit held at MOCA.

During the opening game of the 2011-2012 NBA season, Kevin Durant wore this particular colorway of his Nike Zoom KD IVs on Christmas Day. The shoe was supposedly inspired by the Nike Copper Foamposites, a shoe that a young Durantula wanted since his childhood.

WOW. When I first arrived at the Staples Center, I was in permanent awe from the moment I parked my car. I have been to my fair share of professional basketball games and I have never been this excited for 48 regulation minutes of basketball. Also, for a short period of time, I was at a loss of words thanks to the sea of red surrounding the basketball court. This was my first playoffs game and I couldn’t have asked for things to have gone any better than they did. There was beer, free shirts, good company and most importantly, a Clippers win. Although it wasn’t the prettiest victory, I was glad that the game kept me on my feet throughout most of the battle. I don’t want to go into the details about the game, you will certainly find a much more well-written, concise report of that on ESPN or any other sports program.

When the Nike Kobe VII Poison Dart’s were released around Easter, certain Niketowns and House of Hoops received matching Elite socks to go with the shoe. I wasn’t sure which stores got the shipments, but I sure am grateful that I was given a pair!

Converse and Undefeated have worked together again to release another collection of shoes, shirts and hats that already has the sneaker community chattering. For the first time, the release, entitled Born Not Made, will be available at all House of Hoops locations and select Foot Lockers around the United States. Out of the four pairs of sneakers released, the Star Player Hi grabbed my attention.

Nike’s newest model of the Free Run’s have been released and I believe that they are better than ever. In 2009, I was first introduced to the Free Runs and I have been wearing them nonstop since. I have also been phasing out Jordan’s and other basketball shoes in the past couple years, so these shoes will most likely be part of my daily wardrobe.

Dogzilla is and will always be my favorite food truck. I’ve been supporting them since their early 2010 days and I have yet grown tired of any of their dishes. The ingredients they put on each different option on the menu are pure genius. Plus, the dudes who run the truck are awesome and they definitely take care of their regulars!

What I ordered:

Spicy Dogzilla Dog – (Hot-all beef frank topped with avocado, grilled onions, bacon bits, Furikake seasoning, Japanese mayo, and teriyaki sauce)
Garlic Fries topped with a fried egg.
